School Counselor Julie Marks

FCD Presentation for Middle School Parents
As a part of our Healthy Choices program, we have invited a prevention specialist from FCD (Freedom From Chemical Dependency) to meet with Middle School students on Monday, January 12th and Tuesday, January 13th. 5th and 6th graders will meet with the Prevention Specialist Rodney Poole one time, while 7th and 8th graders will meet twice. FCD is a nonprofit organization that provides substance abuse prevention education for schools. This is our ninth year partnering with them, and we are looking forward to working with Rodney again this year.

In addition to the student education component, Rodney will also present a parent workshop to offer support and guidance in helping your children enjoy a drug-free adolescence. This program presents a perfect opportunity for gaining information that will allow you to discuss alcohol and drug-related issues with your children, as parental involvement is crucial in reducing the risk teenagers face. Rodney will offer the parent presentation on Tuesday, January 13th at 8:10 a.m.
