School Notes for Week of March 7th-11th

  • Angela Ponzio, MS Spanish teacher, will perform in the brand new atrium of the JB Speed Art Museum on Saturday, March 12th at 3:30 p.m. with her musical ensemble, Lunares. This wonderful showcase is in celebration of the grand re-opening of the Speed Art Museum. Lunares will be sharing the atrium space with Louisville Ballet Company, the Louisville Orchestra, and the Squallis Puppeteers, to name few. This event is free to the public and all are welcome to experience true Spanish flamenco song (cante) and dance (baile) performed by Kentucky’s premier flamenco ensemble, Lunares Flamenco.FOTF2F4
  • Brad Devlin, local mixed media artist, debuts his recent work this Sunday, March 13th at Galerie Hertz using Exit signs from St. Francis School that would have otherwise been discarded. The signs have been repurposed by the masterful Devlin into a cool mixed media piece that is sure to intrigue. Come see his latest body of work, titled “Salute,” at this weekend’s opening reception at Galerie Hertz, 1253 S. Preston Street from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The show runs through April 30th.
