Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Preschool Director Renee Hennessy

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Our 4s classes have been busy this week preparing for their celebration of Chinese New Year. They are very interested in social relationships and are ready to explore the world beyond their families. The 2s and 3s participated in the celebration by making shakers for theParade_1 parade and reading several books about China. Our celebration of Chinese New Year, with a parade, food, and activities, gives our children just a taste of another culture. We find they become more interested in discovering the world around them after these experiences.

Spring Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, March 12th for Preschool families. Please use this link to sign up for conferences. The Preschool will be closed on March 12th for conferences and on March 13th for the KAIS (Kentucky Association of Independent Schools) conference in Lexington. This conference will allow our teachers to complete the remaining continued education hours required by the state of Kentucky. Dr. William Mosier, professor in early childhood from the University of Dayton, will be leading our session.

A great big HUGE thank you to Zeke Washer’s grandfather for making tree cookies for our natural playground! WhenTreeCookies_G we can see the ground again (hopefully soon), we look forward to watching the creative ways that our children will use them in their play! (insert pic)
