Student Showcase next week and more Downtown News

Suzanne Gorman, Head of Downtown Campus

I hope everyone had a fabulous Winter Break! I know it was much to the chagrin of the students that we “missed” all the snow days.

The winter sports season wrapped up this week. The bowling teams finished up a couple of weeks ago, as reported on in Tony Butler’s newsletter article before break. All the boys’ and girls’ basketball games scheduled over break were canceled, so the girls did not get to play their final games. Tony’s article this week lists some impressive accomplishments for our winter sports athletes. Congratulations to all of them for their accomplishments on and off the field!

Please mark your calendars for next weekend’s Showcase performances, on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. here at school. This is our annual production of student-written, student-directed plays, along with performances from our jazz combo and our improv group, Currently Out of Order. These promise a fun evening and all are invited.

Our new Office Manager Danielle Tracey started part-time this week and will be full-time as of Monday. Please help us welcome her!

Alexandra and I (along with some of our Goshen Campus colleagues) are currently in Boston for the annual National Association of Independent Schools conference. I’ll share details on that (always an enriching experience!) next week.
