Lower School Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher (G)
St. Francis School, Goshen Campus, seeks a dynamic Lower School Language Arts/Social Studies Teacher for the 2017-18 school year. The ideal candidate for this position will have a BS in Elementary Education or related degree (master’s preferred), a passion for working with Lower School students, a minimum of five years’ experience as a Lower School Teacher, an understanding of Independent Schools, and an awareness of differentiated instruction. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability and desire to work collaboratively, and dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence in one’s teaching are also essential. Additional responsibilities may include homeroom/advisor duties, academic team coaching, and the ability/willingness to coach athletic teams. High School Chinese Teacher (D)
St. Francis School, Downtown Campus, seeks a High School Chinese Teacher to begin in August 2017. We desire an educator who is passionate about his/her subject and about teenagers, and who wants to build a career in an exciting Progressive environment that is dedicated to serving a diverse community of students. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin, have a master’s degree in a related field, and have five years’ high school teaching experience. An understanding of Independent Schools, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively are also essential. Coordinator of The Learning Center (D)
St. Francis School, Downtown Campus, seeks a dynamic educator to be the Coordinator of The Learning Center for the 2017-18 school year. This is a full-time, year-round, salaried position. We have a comprehensive learning center on each campus to support individual students’ needs. The ideal candidate for this position will have had experience in working with students with learning differences, a Bachelor’s degree at minimum, and a passion for working with high school students, as well as dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence. The position will involve coaching students in organizational management and executive functioning skills, as well as some content tutoring. We seek an independent self-starter who initiates appropriate actions and strategies without the need for constant direction and continuous supervision. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively are also essential.  Hours during the school year are 8:15 a.m.- 5:15 p.m., which includes supervising our after-school Homework Hall; summer hours vary. High School Film Artist-in-Residence (D)
St. Francis School, Downtown Campus, seeks a Filmmaking Artist-in-Residence to begin in August 2017. We desire a practicing filmmaker who is passionate about his/her craft and interested in sharing that with a diverse community of teenagers. Teaching experience is preferred; strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and interest in working collaboratively are essential. The Film course meets for an hour on Monday and Wednesday mornings. St. Francis School, Goshen Campus, has immediate openings for substitute teachers in the Preschool program. A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is highly preferred, but not required. Will consider a combination of relevant experience and education.
