Extended Day Program
A St. Francis education begins in the classroom; however, we believe that many of life's most valuable educational opportunities occur outside of the traditional academic setting.
The objectives of the St. Francis School Extended Day Program are to promote curiosity, fitness, creative and personal development, and the lifelong enjoyment of healthy challenge.
By offering extracurricular activities that extend the reach of the St. Francis program into the afternoon hours, the school hopes to provide students with safe, constructive situations for growth and play.
Enrichment Program, JK-4
The St. Francis School Enrichment Program was designed with the working parent in mind. After school is dismissed, children enrolled in the Enrichment Program (which is offered daily) are escorted to the gym to the newly renovated Clubhouse space where children are supervised until up to 6 p.m.
The Enrichment Program is led by St. Francis alum Janet Saborsky, who directs the children in activities that promote creative problem solving, socialization, communication skills, and, above all, fun! Enrichemnt features a wide range of interests - cooking, arts and crafts, dancing, and hiking. No matter what time a child is dismissed from Enrichment, the common question is "Can we please stay longer?"
Enrichment is available on a daily basis until 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Please contact the business office for more details.
Extracurricular Activities
Below is a sampling of activities available for Lower and Middle School students each year:
Interscholastic Sports
Competitive athletics offer participants the opportunity to experience commitment, sacrifice, discipline, communication, teamwork, decision-making, leadership, sportsmanship, and integrity. Interscholastic competition begins in Middle School for most sports at St. Francis.
The school does not "cut" students from team participation. Every student is encouraged to develop skills and to be an active member of a team.
Eligibility for game participation is contingent on attendance of school and practice.
All players are expected to attend all practices and all games. Good sportsmanship, in the form of respect for coaches and other players, is mandatory. Any player that fails to adhere to these guidelines will be asked to leave his or her respective team.
Specific practice information, game schedules and any special requirements will be provided by each team’s coach.
Click on each activity below for current-year details.
