School Notes for Week of February 29 – March 4

  • Come see the Tony-award-winning musical Avenue Q at the High School this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m.!  The production is the school version, considered PG-13.  We suggest the performances for grades 7 and up.  Tickets are available at the door!
  • The Goshen Campus is pleased to announce that Camp Invention will be held here this summer the week of June 13th. Enrichment Staff Director Celeste Fuquay and Assistant Director Krysten Elliott will lead the camp. For more information or to register, click here. Now through Monday, March 21st, register early to receive $25 off. Families registering three or more siblings living in the same household earn $50 off per child all season long.
  • Our next LISC (Louisville Independent School Council) dance is Friday, March 11th  at Walden School from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. for grades 6 – 8.  Our standard practice is for our faculty (along with interested parents) to chaperone our “home” dances,” like this year’s Halloween dance, and to ask for 6th – 8th grade parents to handle the “away” LISC dances at the other independent schools. Mostly chaperones are just a “presence” who know our kids and can remind them about their behavior if the need arises, which is usually rare. Usually we need about two to four chaperones (one for every 10 students attending). Please reach out to Reed Gabhart if you can assist.
  • High School biology teacher David Word and Spanish teacher Angela Katz are excited to announce a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands that will take place over Winter Break in February 2017!  All current 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, plus 8th graders who are coming to the High School, are invited to sign up!  Please contact David  Word or Angela Katz for more information.
